[MY BOOKISH OBSESSIONS] October 2017 //WUTHERING HEIGHTS//

I remember when I first read it. And I remember feeling cheated. YES. THAT’S how I was left feeling by the end of the book. A story filled with passion + heartbreak + revenge PITIFUL revenge, I could not get it out of my mind for MONTHS! I was introduced to Gothic Literature by this very, soul-wrenching book and it became a part of me. And so, I have decided to discuss WUTHERING HEIGHTS this month.

All you people who haven’t read it yet, I hope that by the end of the month, I’ll be able to convince you to give it a try. And those who HAVE read it – WELL, YOU JUST FOUND AN OUTLET TO LET YOUR EMOTIONS FLY, PEOPLE!!!

I MADE IT. YAYYYYY!!!! (Isn’t it sooo very dark and pretty???)

(OKAY, THIS WAS MY FEEBLE ATTEMPT AT MAKING AN AESTHETICs FOR WUTHERING HEIGHTS. I KNOW, IT’S NOT MUCH BUT IT DOES REPRESENT THE BOOK IN ALL IT’S DARKNESS AND PASSION AND SADNESS. )

So I can’t talk more about the book JUST YET *eye roll – OBVIOUSLY* BUT I can share with you SOME (because BELIEVE ME THERE ARE A LOTTT!!!) of my favourite quotes. 🙂

And there you see the distinction between our feelings: had he been in my place and I in his, though I hated him with a hatred that turned my life to gall, I never would have raised a hand against him. You may look incredulous, if you please! I never would have banished him from her society as long as she desired his. The moment her regard ceased, I could have torn his heart out, and drunk his blood! But, till then – if you don’t believe me, you don’t know me – till then, I would have died by inches before I touched a single hair of his head!”

ARRRGGHHH!!! I should stop before I quote the whole book in this post.

Wuthering Heights holds a permanent place in my heart and mind and I HOPE I CAN MAKE YOU SAY THE SAME.
